Having worked in the industry for quite some years, I've come across many articles, tips, strategies, systems, etc, to do with making money at horse racing.
Now about two months ago I stumbled across the phenomenon of 'Betting Bots'. A computer program which actually places bets on your behalf! This absolutely fascinated me, so I began investigating into exactly what was on offer out there.
After reading through the web-site information for half a dozen or so bot-related web-sites, I decided to try out Auto-Betfair which as far as I know is the latest bot on the market.
The software is very easy to install. It comes with an instruction manual, but most computer savvy people wouldn't need it. It's typical 'click next, click next, put in your serial key, click next, click finish' stuff.
Once the software is up and running you install a small zip file which the company sends you each morning. This zip file contains race cards and betting instructions to the software. Once you load this into the Auto-Betfair program, you will see the Excel worksheets it generates, start popping up. After about 30 seconds or so, it's all loaded up, and you login using your Betfair username and password.
That's pretty much all you do really. It starts extracting market data from the Betfair exchange, and when it feels necessary, it triggers a connection and places a bet on your behalf. What makes this software different to other bots I've looked at on the market, is that this system is 'truly' automatic. You don't need to know anything about racing at all. You don't need to pick races, or horses, or anything else for that matter. Now I can't comment on it's long-term ability to make profit as I haven't been using it for long enough, but so far I've not experienced a losing day (in 12 days and counting) and I seem to be experiencing growth of my betting bank at about 5% a day, which is a nice steady figure.
Well worth looking into at the moment, as they are offering a 3-day free trial. Most other companies won't let you try their products before handing over the cash, but they are happy to let you try it without any hassle. If you don't like it, you don't sign up. Simple as that.
