Hi Darren, Can you tell me a little bit about your background with Horse Racing and the  Betting Exchanges?

I have been a betting fan on and off for most of my adult life. My dad is a pro greyhound trainer and my first attempt at pro gambling was on the greyhounds about 10 years ago. Unfortunately although I could make the selections, psychologically I wasn’t ready and after a year I  returned to real work!

When Betting Exchanges were born I became interested again and started using an exchange run by Coral whose name I can’t remember, but basically you could trade on football matches in play using a piece of software that just showed a running graph of the current price as a number between 1 and 100.

I was also a member of  Flutter and was a little sad when they were swallowed up by Betfair

Betting School is a great idea! Independent and impartial reviews of different betting products and services. Can you tell me why you started it off?

In June 2004 I left work again and started a few internet marketing projects, but always ended up trading in the afternoons. I was buying a lot of betting products and systems mainly to get ideas for strategies.

In early 2005 I realised that I could combine the things I liked best into one project. Those things were betting, internet marketing and playing about with numbers and spreadsheets.

The result was the Betting School.

So what do your clients get from you each week or month? Do you have a member’s area or just a newsletter you send out?

Members receive a written report in the post each month, which runs to about 28 pages. There is also a very friendly and interesting forum, where some top ideas are discussed and a members area full of useful downloads as well as the videos that I record of the software products that I test.

Do you test the products out yourself or do you have an army of testers?

It started out as all my own work, but now I have a couple of people that help out with tests.

If someone was interested in testing a system or piece of software, how would they go about signing up to be a tester?

Its not easy finding the right person to conduct tests, because every product must be given the best chance possible of success, to be fair to the creators. Testers must be diligent, knowledgeable and conscientious. So far all testers have come from club members and have proved themselves with the contributions they have made prior to any formal arrangement.

Generally I will have a new tester test something that I am also looking at so I can compare their work with my own.

That said, interested parties can email or could send a sample test to me.

Can you tell me a little more about the software and systems you have tested out recently?

Recent successes have been the new Excel facility on Bet Angel and the Racing Profit System. For Bet Angel we have created an auto trading spreadsheet to show off the Excel facility. Basically this spreadsheet monitors the race that you have loaded on screen and places two bets for a guaranteed profit when it looks like the market will move.

Do you have any other websites or  projects at present and would you like to add any further information to the readers?

Betting School is my main focus at the moment, although I do help out members and online friends with material and advice.

One of the ways I get freebies for my members is to help system creators to build their own web presence.

For example with the Racing Profits System, I was able to give a free copy of this system to my members in January and in return I put up a webpage at Racing Profit System for the author.
