Another week with a raft of friendlies on the footballing front and a great week for a slightly high risk betting strategy to be used in running. The under 17's Tournament in Korea has been great for mismatches - eg Brazil v New Zealand. Now let's put this into perspective - New Zealand's biggest earning sports star carries Tiger Wood's Bags!

Now I would not normally entertain odds of 1.11, but they just had to be taken. I went in big £1000. Brazil scored within 6 seconds. I was out of the trade as the price plummeted to 1.03 in less than a minute with a clear profit of £130 - why can't life be this simple all of the time?

With Brazil scoring 7 in this first game I decided to replicate the bet in their next game against Korea, where they were priced at a tasty 1.35 ( relatively speaking of course) - This time I had to wait for 5 minutes before I was able to create a green screen and profit whatever the outcome of the game.

Now it was the turn of the Africans. I did my research and noted that Nigeria had beaten their Japanese under 17 counterparts 5-0 in their most recent outing.

Here's how the bet stood before any goals were scored.

I am assuming here that Nigeria will score first. They did.

I laid my bet off at lower odds of around 1.30.

The screen you see above represent the odds when Nigeria were 2-0 ahead.

I backed Nigeria at 1.97 and I could have laid Nigeria at 1.08. Regardless, I was sitting on a profit regardless of the outcome.

Of course, it is not written in stone that the team you think will score first, does score first, so I think you should have a cut off point around which you'll say to yourself I will take a loss on this game.

I also employed this system in the Spurs v Derby game and, again, Spurs obliged with the first goal, and within 6 minutes. Alas not all of these trades will run so smoothly, but with proper research you can select the games with the greatest probability that one team will score first. The internet is a great resource for this with sites such as www.betdevil.com and www.soccerstats.com providing great information. To get a professional opinion, perhaps utilising the football writers at www.racingpost.co.uk to get ideas could serve you well.

This is but one of many trading techniques that can be used in live football matches which are in running. There are many trading options in a single game. I opted, for instance, for an under 2.5 goal trade in the recent Manchester Derby - I expected a tight game early on, and so it proved. Again, back at a certain price and lay lay as the price reduces in direct reaction to their being no goals scored.

Elsewhere I have been focussing mainly on the York Ebor meeting this week and waiting for the long awaited showdown between Dylan Thomas and Authorized - now I couldn't split these 2 apart - we have the option, when 2 horses are priced at over evens, of backing both to level stakes and still profiting whoever wins. Alternatively, you might like to explore the place only market, although prices are hardly earth shattering.

Peeping Fawn was the other horse I had marked out this week for close attention and she obliged superbly. Again the price was unspectacular, so why not trade in running - replicate the football bet. Back the horse before the race goes off and lay off your bet in increments as, if expected, the horse runs to her ability and the price reduces below that at which you had backed the horse. Specialist software, I would suggest. should be employed here to ensure quick taking of bets, especially in a volatile market such as the in running market.

IF you have the patience to wait for opportunities such as the ones shown above, you will be rewarded.

So what else has been happening this week? Well, I've been trialling a number of new systems and wait in anticipation for the arrival the Etrends automated betting software which purports to actually tell you when profitable trades occur predominantly in the horse racing markets. Of course if it's a worthwhile bit of kit, you'll be the first to know at www.laytheodds.com. We're always trying to find ways for you to get the edge over the betting exchange!

Keep an eye out for our review of the FR Method, coming up on the site soon. I think you will be pleasantly surprised that we may have uncovered a method which can provide consistent profits - and consistency really is a key for a winning system. Far too often we trial systems which look like the Holy Grail, only to hit a sticky patch, and a sustained sticky patch which erodes previously hard earned profits .

This blog is a free resource exclusive to you, and is a kind of sounding board for my ideas regarding trying to find a couple of backing systems which don't need you to be pouring over the form for hours on end. I am mindful of Betfair's huge prices for perceived outsiders which is why one of my systems focuses on trying to find an each way juicy priced horse. Even if that horse places you need not despair - dependent on the odds you'll at least get your stake back!

And soon, I'll be spilling the beans on how I managed to pick out a winner priced at 42 on Betfair, and a placed horse priced at 70 to win on betfair, double figure odds to place.

It'll all be coming up soon at www.laytheodds.com - you won't want to miss it - and the info is FREE!

I hope you have a great sporting weekend and catch up soon - remember to wtch out for the FR Method review article at www.laytheodds.com and more goodies to come

Cheers
