Matched Bets
WHAT IS MATCHED BETTING? Many bookmakers offer free bets, you know the sort of thing "Bet £25, receive a free £25 bet" as a signup bonus when opening an account, or maybe to encourage people to have a bet their site during a certain sporting event i.e. World Cup, Champions League, Grand National etc… Matched betting is a technique involving backing and laying an event in order to win regardless of the outcome using the free bonuses that are on offer as the stake money, thereby making risk free profit. Saturday
sees the start of our Fair and Square competition, giving you the chance to pit your wits
against the bookmaker and pocket a £5 free bet in the process. What better race to
kick-off proceedings than the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket. This race usually sets the standard for the classic generation and has launched the careers of the
likes of George Washington and Rock of Gibraltar in recent times as well as those of
racing legends such as Dancing Brave and Nashwan in years gone by.
New
Approach is the current favourite for the race, having been unbeaten in a
season that culminated in a win in the Darley Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket last autumn. He fully deserves his
place at the head of the market but comes here without a prep run and anyone who saw him scrubbed along
after two or so furlongs in the Dewhurst will maybe think twice about lumping
on him at short odds this weekend. However, he did recover to win the race well
enough and is the clear form pick, so
obviously it would be no surprise to see him win.
Nevertheless,
even though the forecast rain shouldn't hold any fears for Jim Bolger's charge,
we're going to take him on with Ibn Khaldun, who improved with every run last
season and who wound up last term by taking
the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster. Any further rain should hold no fear, as he is out of
Gossamer, a Gerald Leigh-bred horse who revelled in the mud and being by Dubai Destination, he
should be a miler through and through. Frankie Dettori knows a thing or two about
winning English classics and it's quite fitting we're going with the boys in blue –
though you may not agree. If you don't, get entering our free competition and not only can you put us in our
place, but you can also bag yourself a free £5 bet in the process!
