This method is one of many that I use on snooker and it is called "Betting before the event starts". It is amazingly simple and also extremely low risk. It involves placing a bet before the start of a snooker match in the match odds market and then laying it off for a nice profit.

You remember the good old days don’t you? Yes, you could have a cigarette in your local bookies, as you’d desparately try to find those elusive winners in your daily scraps with the enemy. Somehow, though, these winners always seemed to disappear when you arrived!

Probably one of the most versatile and overlooked betting techniques. Dutching is the method of backing multiple runners in a race to return a profit should any one of the selections win. Another way to look at Dutching is to create an under-round “book” that has the most likely winners of the event running for you leaving the lesser chance runners out of your calculations.

In this article I will explain what Steamers and Drifters are and how they can be used to make a profit from betting.  Well, that's what we are all here for, isn't it? What, you may ask, are Steamers and a Drifters? Basically, they are horse racing terms, jargon if you will, for hoses whose odds shorten or lengthen.  It's that simple.

Although the in-play market offers some real possibilities for profit, it is not the easy route to making money than some would have you believe. As with everything to do with betting exchanges, the full picture has to be studied before deciding if this might be the right method for you.

To the novice punter, a Betting Exchange can look overwhelming but to the value-conscious punter, they are manna from heaven. Why? Better prices- because the bookmaker is taken out of the equation, you are not subject to their 5, 10, 20 or even 50% margins. No overheads to support, no employees to pay, you are betting directly against other punters and their opinions. As a result, you end up with prices that average 20% better than bookies. This is especially true on markets with more selections - racing, football premierships, golf tournaments etc, where bookies traditionally make their 'bread and butter'.
