On this research site you will find a list of useful websites / books / articles, all designed to help you in the ongoing battle against the bookmaker. This is a fabulous free football betting portal that provides historical results and odds. It generates computer ready data in Excel format and you are able to download the files for free. There is also a guide to ratings systems and a betting guide. It also has livescore facilities and points you in the direction of the best free bets and bonuses from the leading bookmakers. All in all, it is jam packed full of information that is invaluable to the knowledgeable bettor.
A wonderful site where you are able to compare stats, teams and odds. It covers all main leagues in Europe, as well as every league in England. They give their own ratings for teams, they have form tables, attack/defence rankings, goal supremacy and over/under stats. You can get full stats on individual teams and also head 2 head reviews. An absolutely invaluable tool to put in your armoury and it is free.

Pro Gambler
This site is the work of Greg Gordon, a Scottish journalist, who for a year, ran a test to see if in fact you could make money from. You can read his conclusions on this site. The site is free but you do have to register with it.

There are many other aspects to this site though, including, betting articles, book reviews, new betting books, betting services and their offers, a Saturday column that highlights some tasty betting propositions, not just in football but other sports as well.

Some of you may know of Greg in his capacity as author of the respected and the weekly tips he passes onto his members. You may want to have a look at both of these sites, obviously the tipping site is a pay by subscription service.

A resource that adds an extra dimension to your armoury, with half-time analysis on all teams, last 10 matches form analysis, last 6 home and away analysis. It also has shots/goals/corners stats, which are very useful for the variety of possible bets we have these days. They also have their own ratings which you can use to devise your own ratings system. There is head2head analysis and the best bit is that it is free.

An absolutely invaluable stats site with more up to date stats than you will ever need. All the world leagues with 1X2 %ages, goals per match, over/under stats. All the latest footie news, results, form tables. Frequency score , clean sheets, fail to score, scoring times, sequencies, the list goes on and on. A free to use site that has everything you need.

Fixed Odds Sports Betting

This book is written by Joseph Buchdahl, who runs the much acclaimed website, which we have previously featured on the Research site. The book is written for novice and hardened sports bettors alike and examines how we can beat the books, protect profits and turn our betting into a form of low risk investment. An invaluable addition to the library for sports betting enthusiasts. Although written 6 years ago, it is still relevant today and you are able to get it from for less than £10.

The Definitive Guide to Betting on Football

A wonderful new book written by my favourite football writer and tipster Kevin Pullein, of Racing Post fame. His football tips have shown a profit for the last 13 years, generating over 10% ROI. Throughout the book he shows you how to form your own odds market for a vast array of different football markets and how you can take advantage of this information. Again you can get this paperback from and at the moment is around £5.50, an absolute bargain.

A very useful and informative site which gives you all the usual information such as current league tables, fixtures, 5 match form, head2head, half-time analysis, over and under. The added advantage of this site though is the extra bits of useful information that it gives. These include, overrounds for the best odds, top individual goalscorers in each division, worst individual disciplinary record for players and the frequency of goals scored by each team for the current season. This information is very helpful if you are intending to play in the over/under goals markets, cards and correct score markets.

A site that combines up to date scores, odds and stats for clubs and leagues all over the world. A useful feature is the way it highlights the bookmaker who is offering the best odds on every football market you could wish for. It also shows any bookmaker offers. The stats section gives the recent 6 match form for teams as well as a trends analysis over the last 20 matches (an excellent addition).
